Lonnie and Georgine Brooks were approved as missionaries to Ethiopia in May 1961. In 1975, they were force to leave Ethiopia due to a revolution. They spent a short time in Costa Rica before returning to Africa in 1978 to begin their service in Kenya.

Lonnie and Georgine both graduated in 1960 from the missions course at Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO. They completed their internship at Lockland Baptist Church, Cincinnati, OH with Dr. John Rawlings.

Lonnie and Georgine began serving as Relief missionaries with the SMORS program (Skilled Missionaries Offering Relief Services) in September 2000. Lonnie and Georgine retired in January 2008. As health allows, they remain active in promoting missions through their local church and continue to assist missionaries on the field.
